What we do

Everything above the walls, and the walls too

One team for the whole job, from a single slipped tile to a full extension with the roof finished the same week.

Flat roof refelting

Torch-on felt systems for garages, extensions, dormers and porches. Small flat roofs up to large commercial spans, from £1,595.

Rubber EPDM roofs

One seamless membrane, no joints to split and no torch on the roof. Fitted with proper trims and outlets, from £1,995.

Full reroofs

Strip, re-batten, new breathable membrane and retile or reslate. Semi-detached houses typically £6,500 to £7,500.

Repairs & repointing

Leaks traced and fixed, slipped and cracked tiles replaced, ridges and verges repointed, chimneys made good. From £149.

Warm roofs

Insulation built into the roof build-up in rubber or torch-on felt, so an extension or dormer stays warm and stops sweating.

Warm roofs in UPVC tiles

Lightweight UPVC tile finish over a warm roof build-up. The look of a tiled roof on a structure that cannot take the weight.

Extensions & building work

Single storey extensions, garage conversions, brickwork and groundwork, roofed and watertight by the same team.

Garden shed & outbuilding roofs

Sheds, summerhouses, workshops and stores refelted and left tidy. £150 to £400 depending on the size.

Free quotes & estimates

We come out, get up and look properly, and give you a written figure. No charge and no pressure either way.

Warm roofs explained

The reason your extension feels cold and damp

Most older flat roofs put the insulation under the deck, which leaves the deck cold and the underside of it wet. A warm roof turns that around: the insulation goes on top, so the timber stays warm and dry and the room underneath actually holds its heat.

  • No more condensation on the ceilingThe dew point moves above the timber, so the deck stops sweating.
  • Cheaper to heatA properly insulated flat roof makes an obvious difference to a room that has always been freezing.
  • Your choice of finishRubber EPDM, torch-on felt or lightweight UPVC tiles over the top.
  • No ceilings coming downIt is all built from above, so you keep your plaster and your rooms stay usable.

How a warm roof is built up

Five layers, in this order, from the joists upwards.

01Existing deck, checked and made sound
02Vapour control layer
03Rigid PIR insulation board
04Overlay board
05Rubber, felt or UPVC tile finish

How it works

Three steps, no runaround

STEP 01

Tell us about the roof

Fill in the form or call. A rough idea of the type of roof and the problem is plenty to get started, and photos help if you have them.

STEP 02

We come and look

We get up and inspect it properly rather than guessing from the ground, then give you a fixed written price. Free, whatever you decide.

STEP 03

We book you in and get it done

Scaffold, skips and materials all arranged. We turn up when we say, clear up behind us, and you pay the figure we quoted.

Recent work

The same roof, start to finish

Every job gets photographed as we go, so you can see the state of the roof when we arrived, what was underneath once we stripped it back, and how it was left.

What you get

How we work, and what it costs you to find out

No sales visit, no survey fee and no figure that changes once the scaffold is up.

The price we quote is the price you pay

You get a fixed written figure once we have been up and looked at the roof properly. It does not move afterwards unless you ask us to do more work.

Coming out costs you nothing

Quotes and estimates are free whatever you decide. If you get a better price elsewhere, that is fine and there is no follow-up call chasing you.

One team for the whole job

Scaffold, skips and materials are arranged for you, and because we do the building work as well as the roofing you are not left waiting on a second trade.

Questions

The things people ask us most

Is the quote really free?

Yes. Quotes and estimates cost nothing and there is no obligation. We come out, look at the roof properly, and give you a written price. If you decide not to go ahead, that is the end of it.

Which number should I call?

Whichever is local to you. 01473 396033 is our Suffolk number and 01206 430015 covers Colchester and north Essex. Both come through to the same team, and 07575 672977 is the mobile if you would rather text or send photos.

How much is a new flat roof?

Refelting starts at £1,595 and a new rubber EPDM roof starts at £1,995. The final figure depends on the size of the roof, how easy it is to get to, and what the decking underneath is like once the old covering comes off. We tell you all of that before any work starts.

What does a full reroof cost?

A typical semi-detached house is between £6,500 and £7,500 including new battens, membrane, fixings and the tiles. Larger or detached properties, or roofs with a lot of valleys and dormers, are priced individually.

Will you do a small repair, or is it only big jobs?

Small jobs are welcome. Tile repairs, repointing and general roof repairs start at £149, and we will refelt a garden shed for between £150 and £400 depending on the size.

What is the difference between a rubber roof and torch-on felt?

Rubber EPDM goes down as one seamless sheet, so there are no joins to fail and no flame used on the roof. Torch-on felt is laid in overlapping layers and welded together, and it copes well with awkward shapes and detailing. Both make excellent long-term flat roofs, and we will tell you which suits your roof when we look at it.

Do you do extensions as well as roofing?

Yes. We take on single storey extensions, garage conversions and general building work, and because we roof it ourselves the whole job stays with one team rather than waiting on a separate roofer.

How far do you travel?

Up to 50 miles from our base at Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. That covers Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Southwold, Lowestoft, Beccles, Diss, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Norwich, Manningtree, Harwich, Clacton, Colchester and the A12 corridor. Put your postcode on the form and we will confirm.

How quickly can you come out?

Usually within a few days for a quote, and sooner if the roof is actively leaking. If it is urgent, call 01473 396033, 01206 430015 or the mobile on 07575 672977 and we will do our best to get someone to you.
